Ask the Right Questions

Coaching is the process of getting your employees to think for themselves. When your employees ask for your help to solve a problem or deal with a situation, help them to determine their own solution by asking the following seven questions: 

  1. What is the issue?
  2. What are the facts of the situation?
  3. What is the cause of the situation?
  4. What would the ideal situation look like?
  5. What are some possible solutions?
  6. What are your next steps?
  7. Did your solutions work?
